Kehrseiten

conceptual, graphic

Kehrseiten give new life to neglected prints. Those with ink stains or accidental black and white prints, wrong formats, typos or double prints.

Having them in your home will not only fulfill your need of a handy dandy notebook, but will also let you have a glimpse into someone else’s life.

The first edition is made from whatever wrong my own studio printer spit out. You might find back slightly misshaped versions of logos or drafts of layouts with extraordinarily bad kerning. All delivered on finest 80 g/m² paper.

The first collecting box will be set up at my neighbourhood print shop. The place is frequented by a lot of students, so I hope that I can feature some intriguing research papers in the next edition.

Hart voor Uw Stad

graphic, editorial

Hart voor Uw Stad is a campaign to support local Dutch shops by putting the owners in the spotlight and exciting customers to buy locally by handing out coupons and asking readers to vote for their favorite shop. I designed the visual identity, an editorial and commercial supplement, the campaign website and a number of posts for the campaign’s facebook page.

Graduation Project

conceptual, editorial, graphic

Our society is becoming more and more abstract. Professionally as well as personally, we are often asked to make decisions and solve problems for which we cannot rely on only our experiences anymore. I developed two tools that help us navigate through and act within modern society.

Wethinking – A linear way to
non-linear thinking

conceptual, theory, editorial, graphic

Technological and social developments require non-linear approaches and teamwork, and yet we are still educated to think in straight lines and individually. Wethinking offers a linear way to internalize non-linear processes. As an educational workshop of two days, a week, a month or even a whole semester it is targeted at people who are afraid to be creative – or people who want to improve their own creative process by understanding it better.  The workshop contains tools to trigger lateral thinking and challenges the participants to work in a team of innovators.

Pario – We made this for you!

conceptual, editorial, graphic

A growing number of quality seals try to help us choose between products by labeling them. However, they create biased images which often obscure what really lies behind an article. Pario works the opposite way: The whole process behind the product is made accessible for the consumer.

With Pario, both sides of the trade benefit: It provides transparent goods for the consumer and a positive image to producers, who are proud of what they do.

The New Gods

theory, editorial, graphic

The possibilities of creations that are arising from the interplay of media, work methods and surrounding fields like science and technology are endless, complex and nowhere near being exhausted.Terms like graphic design or interior design have helped us navigate through the jungle of humanly creations so far. But what happens if a piece does not fit into a pigeonhole?

My thesis examines how design theorists deal with pieces of work that are too unique to be categorized. Are we going to be able to fully grasp the design universe as a discipline or will we continue to hover between the realms?
